Asian Beach Polo Championship 2018, the one and only great charity beach polo in Asia

The 9th Asian Beach Polo Championship 2018 was held on April 21, 2018 on the beach front of Intercontinental Hua Hin Resort, Prachuap Khiri Khan to win HRH Princess Bhajarakitiyabha trophy in which proceeds go to Nabha Foundation under the initiative of HRH Princess Bhajarakitiyabha. The event which would also help stimulate tourism in Hua Hin is supported by His Excellency Former Deputy Prime Minister Suwat Liptapallop, Advisory Chairman of the event; Dr Harald Link, Chairman of B. Grimm Group and President of Thailand Equestrian Federation; Miss Proudputh Liptapallop, Executive Director of Proud Real Estate Co., Ltd.
Dr. Harald Link, who is the first person who initiate and play beach polo in Thailand as the Chairman of the event said that “This year is also a special year for B. Grimm Group which carry on a tradition of 140 years of conducting our business in Thailand. We are proud to arrange the Asian Beach Polo tournament which is one of our special activities to reflects the potential of Thailand in hosting international beach polo event as well as promote Hua Hin and the kingdom tourism among tourists and spectators.
The premise of the event is surrounded by white sandy beach and deep blue sea with celebrities and spectators watching on the edge of the field such as H.E. Mr. Francisco Vaz Patto Ambassador of Portugal to Thailand, Narin Sriprachak, Sasiwimon Dararattanaroj, Patitta Homchan, Tawn Chatchavalvong, Kanokkorn Lamlert, Mark Thawin P Seawtong, Vee Mar, Nunthinee Tanner, Sutheera Utama, Virada Ketkakomol, Patcharat Chairojrat Harrison, Maliwan Prayongphan and etc.
This year, there are 2 international teams participating in the competition; Thailand and Malaysia. And the winner of the competition is Malaysia Team who beats Thai Polo Team at 7 points to 5 points and won the HRH Princess Bhajarakitiyabha trophy. The hi-light of the event is horseback fashion show by leading Thai celebrities by transforming the beach into a runway such as Yingmann – M.R. Mannarumas Yukol, Jinny – Kerika Chotivichit, Pepe – Varithorn Kanpaibool, Tiplada Chaowanapreecha, Uraiporn Chalermsaphayakorn, Pound – Haruethai Jayant Na Ayudhaya, Nungning – Kanokros Kittikachorn, Prim – Pimpisa Chomanan, Praew – Pichamon Chomanan and etc.
The night ended with Beachcomber BBQ party, the chance to make merit by auctioning fine arts and crafts (Chang Sib Mu) from Nabha Foundation under the initiative of HRH Princess Bhajarakitiyabha and paintings from Arts Village Hua Hin. Proceeds from the event go to Nabha Foundation to support the under privileges to live in social.
