Dusit Thani Pattaya joins the krathin merit-making ceremony with the local community

Pattaya, Thailand – 22 November 2018 – Dusit Thani Pattaya joined with the local community to host a ceremony to present krathin to Kao Saothongthong Temple, Banglamung District, Chonburi Province with a total amount of 194,349 baht of donation. The ceremony was led by Dusit Thani Pattaya’s General Manager, Mr Neoh Kean Boon, management, and staff of the hotel to present robes to monks. The krathin merit-making ceremony is an annual activity under the hotel’s CSR programme to support community activities. All donations are raised by the hotel’s personnel and taken to an upcountry village and offered to the monks, the less fortunate, and to support the Buddhist religion.

The Kathin festival is a Buddhist tradition held at the end of the rainy season. The festival generally lasts for a month and is a time for temple patrons to express gratitude to monks. Robes are the most-common gifts lay Buddhists bring to make merit.
